 Joseph Boboige is an educator, composer, and performer currently located in Boise, ID.  He graduated in 2018 with a Master of Music degree in Oboe Performance from Boise State University where he worked as a graduate teaching assistant with the Blue Thunder Marching Band.  He received a Bachelors of Science in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2014. 

Public School Teaching
​Joseph currently teaches 6th-8th Choir and 6th Grade General Music at Lone Star Middle School in Nampa, ID.  Previously, he also taught 6th grade Beginning Woodwinds.  In addition to the regular concert performances, the auditioned Chamber Chorale at Lone Star perform at various school and public functions throughout the school year.  Students part of the Lone Star choral program have auditioned successfully for musical theater productions in the Treasure Valley, the Idaho MS All-State Choir, and participate in local honor events.
Previously, he was the director of vocal and instrumental music at Boyer Valley Middle School High School in Dunlap, IA for the 2015-16 school year.  ​There he worked with the 6th ​grade general music classes, 6th grade band, 7th and 8th grade choir and band, and high school band and choir.  In addition to these classes, he worked with a number of independent study private students, pep band, and hosted the 2015 Rolling Valley Junior High Conference Choir Festival.  Many of his private and public students have successfully auditioned for honor bands and vocal ensembles in Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Idaho.

Marching Band
Before teaching in Iowa, Joseph worked with the DuBois Area High School Marching Band and Indoor Percussion ensembles as an arranger and music/cymbal staff member from 2010-2012 and 2014-15. At Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he worked as a counselor at the IUP Drum Major Academy, a five day conducting and leadership camp.  While working on his master's degree at Boise State, he was given the opportunity to give clinics to the auditioning drums majors for the 2017-18 marching season.  Most recently, he worked as the arranger and an instructor for the WGI Regional Finalist, Armada Winds, on their production "Birds too Bright to be Caged", and the Nampa High School Marching Band.  Joseph has also given seminars for high school and college student events on Sectional Rehearsal Techniques and Drum Major Conducting.

Composition
In 2014, he was given the opportunity to write the vocal and incidental music for a production of Shakespeare's The Tempest at Indiana University of PA where he was responsible for the hiring of musicians, conducting the ensemble, and working with theater and music faculty.  In addition, Joseph has written for a variety of ensembles, from marching band to string quartets.  
Performing
Joseph has had the opportunity to work with different organizations as a performer.  Joseph currently plays in the role of Principal Oboe for the Meridian Symphony Orchestra, but has performed with the Warren Philharmonic, DuBois Vocal Arts Ensemble, Hymns of Thanksgiving Orchestra, Treasure Valley Millennial Choirs and Orchestra, Clarion University, Treasure Valley Concert Band, various ensembles at Boise State University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, numerous HS and community theater musical pit orchestras as a woodwind doubler, and various other community events.  You can hear Joseph on the Indiana University of PA CD "Samuel R. Hazo: Works for Concert Band", the premiere recording of Daniel French's The Descending Blue (Ob), and more.

​Joseph has studied music composition with Dr. David Martynuik, oboe with Mr. Brian Simpson, Dr. Stephanie Caulder, and Dr. Jeanne Belfy, conducting with Dr. Jason Worzbyt, Dr. Jack Stamp, and Mr. Marcellus Brown, and voice with Ms. Barbara Moore.  Within marching band conducting, Joseph has attended clinics and studied with individuals from Fred J.
